Clyde manager, Billy Reid, has been awarded the Bells Manager of the Month award for August, after an outstanding start to the season. Reid was appointed to the Clyde manager's post this summer, after Alan Kernaghan left for Livingston.

After losing players like Mark McLaughlin, Pat Keogh and club captain Jack Ross during the summer, Reid has managed to introduce impressive new players like Darren Sheridan, Aron Wilford and Gary Arbuckle, despite having a limited budget. In August, Clyde managed a 100% record, including 4 clean sheets in a row. After defeating old rivals Partick Thistle 2-1 in the opening game, followed by a 3-2 win in Kirkcaldy, Clyde won four games by just one goal, against Ross County and Queen of the South in the league, and cup ties against Airdrie United and Stranraer.

The award is deserved with Clyde sitting on top of the league and cupties against Forfar Athletic and Dundee United still to come this month, as well as a crucial game against on form Falkirk, he may well be the recipient of next month's award as well if results go his way.

Other award winners, included Alex Burke, who has scored an impressive 8 goals for Ross County so far this season, after signing for the Dingwall club in the summer, from Queen of the South. He won the Player of the Month award.

Falkirk's Darryl Duffy, who has netted 11 goals for the Bairns this season, picks up the Young Player of the Month award. Duffy moved from Rangers in the summer and the 20 year old has helped Falkirk score 23 goals in their last 5 matches.

Stirling Albion manager, Allan Moore, picked up the Second Division Manager's Award. The Forthbank side have picked up maximum points from their opening 5 games in Division Two, an excellent feat for a team who were promoted last summer.

Finally, the Third Division Manager's award goes to Iain Stewart of Peterhead. The once prolific goalscorer has inspired Peterhead to the top of the division, with players like Scott Michie and ex-Clyde star David Hagen impressing. Again, they have a 100% record this season and they go into a crunch game with second placed Gretna this Saturday.
