Falkirk vs Clyde Preview

Last updated : 25 September 2004 By David Worton
For the second week in a row, Clyde head to a stadium where they haven't yet played a competitive match. After last weekends 1-0 win at Hamilton the Bully Wee sit level on points with their opponents this afternoon. Both sides suffered heavy cup defeats in midweek. Clyde lost by 4 goals at Dundee United and Falkirk crashed to an 8-1 loss against Celtic.

With both results potentially getting on top of several players, it will be interesting to see who can bounce back the best. Clyde have the advantage of being able to recall Eddie Malone, Scott Wilson and Arran Conway and it's hoped that Gary Bollan and Mark Gilhaney will be able to take part, so there will be plenty of fresh legs in the side. Falkirk's one doubt is Mark Campbell, who may make way for John Hughes. There could also be a change in goals, where Allan Ferguson could replace Darren Hill.

With Clyde potentially having a full squad available, it will be interesting to see if under-performers like Jimmy Gibson and Aron Wilford retain their places. A win today could see either team go top if Airdrie United take anything from St Mirren this afternoon. It's a huge game.
