Kerkar leaves Clyde

Algerian star, Karim Kerkar, today ended his short time at Clyde by signing for Dundee United on a 6 month deal. The attacking midfielder, who helped Clyde to 1-0 victories over Ross County and Airdrie United, was playing for the Bully Wee as a favour to manager Billy Reid, by the player's agent, Willie McKay.

After all 12 SPL teams, as well as Everton, Plymouth and several others from England had been in contact, the chances of Clyde keeping the talented player looked slim. Ian McCall, despite United's well documented financial worries, has moved swiftly to sign up Kerkar, who's main qualities are his dribbling skills and work rate.

Fortunately for Clyde, Kerkar's appearance in that Airdrie match means he is unable to play for United in the League Cup and therefore can't play against the Bully Wee later this month, in the same competition.

Despite only playing in three matches, Clyde fans were treated to an outstanding player who will leave plenty of good memories. Kerkar will hopefully now go onto set the SPL alight, as well as keeping a small place in his heart for the Bully Wee.
