Young wins it for Wasps

Darren Young's late goal earned Alloa all three points from a 1-0 victory over Clyde.

Stephen May had a promising opportunity to put the league leaders ahead but headed wide from six yards out after 24 minutes.

Clyde's best chance of the half fell to John Neill who forced Alloa goalkeeper Scott Bain into a save with a close-range header.

The Bully Wee again came close to taking the lead 11 minutes after the breaking when Jamie Pollock volleyed Ryan Kane's corner over the bar.

Bain needed to be alert to deny Neill for a second time, before Young scored the crucial goal of the game, neatly converting Ross McKinnon's left-wing cross to record his first goal of the season.

May spurned two late chances to double the his side's lead, but the Wasps were able to secure a first win in three games.
