Brechin and Clyde battled their way to a share of the spoils after a stormy game.

Brechin got off to a great start with a goal after four minutes. A lovely pass from Gerry Britton released Steven Hampshire inside the box and he shot home.

Clyde might have been level after 17 minutes, but Alex Williams put the ball wide from a great position after a Stephen O'Donnell cross.

After 27 minutes a Michael McGowan shot was cleared off the Brechin line by Paul Deas. Three minutes later Tom Brighton combined with Williams and his drive went just over.

Brechin almost stretched their lead after 31 minutes when a shot from Hampshire was brilliantly saved by Paul Jarvie.

As half-time approached Steve Hamilton made a great block from O'Donnell, then O'Donnell shot inches wide.

Clyde equalised a minute into the second half when Paul McHale fired in a shot which somehow Craig Nelson allowed to slip over the line.

After 53 minutes an O'Donnell drive came back off the Brechin post.

Both sides were reduced to 10 men after 61 minutes when Britton and Neil McGregor of Clyde were both sent packing. Ten minutes from time Clyde's Roddy Hunter should have done better than head wide from a great position.

Clyde pressed for victory, and after 84 minutes Nelson made up for his earlier blunder with a fine save from O'Donnell. Three minutes from time Brighton knocked the ball down and Craig Bryson fired in a shot which forced another fine save from Nelson.
