McDonald strike earns victory for Clyde

Clyde continued their promising start to the season with 1-0 home victory over Montrose, who ended the match with ten men.

Stephen McDonald's close-range finish was the deciding goal of the game in the 50th minute, following good work by midfielder Liam Cusack on the right wing.

The lively Cusack was again involved four minutes later, heading John Neill's cross against the post. Cusack then had his 58th minute shot brilliantly tipped over the bar by Montrose goalkeeper Michael Andrews.

Any hope of the away side scoring a late equaliser and earning a share of the spoils was dashed five minutes before the end of the game when midfielder Paul Lunan was sent off for his second bookable offence.
