A Pat Keogh pre-match statement about putting one over on his old team mates proved prophetic as the big striker helped himself to a double as the visitors cruised to a comfortable victory over second-placed Clyde.

Hamilton had much the better of the opening half without anything to show for their superiority, but things soon changed after the re-start. Oddly enough it was Clyde who came close first with David McEwan forced into a fingertip save from a curling free-kick taken by Darren Sheridan before Mark Corcoran wasted a glorious opening by over-hitting a pass to Keogh with the Clyde defence at their mercy.

However, the opener was not long delayed, and when Marcel Mahouve crossed low into the area, Eddie Malone mis-kicked on the edge of the six-yard box, leaving Keogh to fire home.

The advantage was soon doubled two minutes later from a dead-ball situation. Mahouve provided the decoy by running over the ball, leaving Lee Hardy to send a sweet left-foot strike well out of Bryn Halliwell's reach. Corcoran atoned for his earlier error by outpacing John Potter to the by-line before cutting the ball back to Keogh for his second of the afternoon.

Clyde's consolation goalr came from a solo effort by substitute Craig Bryson.
