Partick seemed to be determined to stem their recent slide towards the relegation zone by taking the game to Clyde at the outset.

A neat one-two between Juan Ramon Escalas and Leigh Hinds ended with the latter shooting narrowly wide.

Thistle's pressure continued, and a Derek Fleming free-kick led to Andy McLaren striking a shot along the crossbar, but it was Clyde who took the lead after 20 minutes. Gary Bollan powered in a free-kick from 25 yards which deflected off a defender past a stranded Kenny Arthur.

Clyde could have had a second, but Arthur saved from Gary Arbuckle who tried to place the ball past the keeper when a full-blooded shot was the better option.

Thistle eventually ensured parity at the break when Fleming fired a free-kick into a crowded six-yard box for Andy Wilkinson to force the ball home.

Clyde restarted with greater purpose than the visitors, and Craig Bryson was just wide with his scoring effort which was soon followed by an attempt from full-back Simon Mensing, which also failed to trouble the Thistle keeper.

The only Clyde player who appeared capable of creating anything was Ian Harty, who had a penalty claim turned down when his shot struck a Thistle hand.

Harty was later substituted by Mark Gilhaney, who had little time to make any impact on proceedings.

Overall, neither side deserved to win and despite Clyde's indifferent performance their point, together with other results, pushed them back up to second spot in the table.
