Clyde players would like to finish in fourth place in the league table and they did their prospects a power of good by beating Ross County to close the point gap between them.

But the game served up pretty poor fare for the fans, and a goal in each half by Stephen O'Donnell was the difference between the sides.

County enjoyed a decent spell for about 20 minutes at the start of the game, but it was Clyde who dominated proceedings for long periods and fully deserved to take all three points.

County tried to surprise the home side with a cheeky goal attempt straight from the kick-off which almost caught Peter Cherrie by surprise.

Once Clyde settled down, however, they soon took control, and O'Donnell gave them the lead in the 22nd minute from a free-kick.

Clyde continued to control proceedings after the re-start and went further ahead when Sean Webb upended Tom Brighton inside the box. As penalties go it was a fairly soft award, but O'Donnell doubled Clyde's advantage.

John Rankin should have given County a consolation goal near the end but he shot weakly against the legs of Cherrie from about eight yards when it looked easier to score.
