Gable Endies find home comforts

Montrose recorded their first home league win since early November after a commanding second-half performance earned a 4-0 victory over Clyde.

The hosts came into this fixture with just one win in their previous 10 games, but went ahead six minutes after the interval when David McGowan swept home Martin Boyle's cross.

The lead was doubled two minutes later, Boyle again instrumental, this time setting up Scott Johnston who applied the finish from close range.

Jamie Winter's stunning 25-yard effort extended Ray Farningham's side advantage in the 75th minute before substitute Steven McNalley capped a fine performance for the Gable Endies in the closing stages, crashing home Winter's assist to move Montrose level on points with the visitors.
