A brilliant display by Clyde goalkeeper Bryn Halliwell earned a replay for his side after a goal-less draw with Ross County at Victoria Park.

County made a useful start to the game, and the first real opening came in the eighth minute when David Winters cut the ball back for Don Cowie, but his shot was easily held by Bryn Halliwell.

Then John Rankin tried his luck from 30 yards, but the Clyde keeper got down well to his effort.

Clyde's first attempt on goal came from John Potter, who drove wide of Colin Stewart's right-hand post. The Bully Wee had another effort on target a couple of minutes later when Eddie Malone's snap-shot from the edge of the box was smothered by Stewart.

Clyde were beginning to make the openings, and Simon Mensing forced a fine save from Stewart after Ian Harty set up the chance.

County hit back and Cowie teed the ball up for Winters, but the striker blasted the ball over from 20 yards.

Clyde were getting closer to an opener, and when Alex Burns delivered the ball into the box Malone just failed to connect.

But it was County who almost made the breakthrough at the other end when Jim Lauchlan got on the end of a Rankin free-kick, but the County captain was unable to control the ball properly and he stabbed the ball on to the top of the crossbar and over.

Rankin was denied by Halliwell in the 51st minute when his stinging shot took a deflection, and again when he fired just past Halliwell's left-hand post.

County made the better start to the second half, but Clyde substitute Gary Arbuckle, who replaced Darren Sheridan, forced a double save from Stewart in the 62nd minute.

Clyde won a corner in the final minute, and Gary Bollan and Winters were both booked while the kick was about to be taken. But Bollan fired the ball against the wall and the ball was cleared.
